Install instructions

  • You will probably need python (3.10+) and pygame (2.x).
  • By running setup.py you can set gamepad bindings.
  • To play the game run Reflection.exe
  • You may get an anti-virus warning (this happens to pretty much all games bundled  with pyinstaller)
  • If you have stick drift on joystick try increasing values in data/saves/joyval.txt

Obviously a great game, graphics are amazing, animation is smooth, ui feels nice. Your game is really well-made and only a demo, so take my feedback with a grain of salt. With that said: Game design could use some work, for example adding more visual and auditory feedback to attacks. I don't really know if my attack was a success without looking at the health bar (plus the white health bar itself is quite hard to read against the light background). I also think that the pixel art minecraft font that you are using is a bit basic, I would expect a more artistic font in such an artistic game :). also, consider working on making the beginning of the game easier, or adding some kind of tutorial. From my experience, as a dev, it often feels like you're making it too easy but it's often still difficult for noobs, it's better to have a game start too easy than too hard (even if the game is meant to be hard!!), if you want a challenge for good players, you can always make it harder later in the game, but if it's hard from the beginning, noobs will get frustrated and lose interest. Really curious where this goes, keep it up! (it definitely looks promising!!)

Well, thanks for the review, in case of the game's difficulty it is not hard because I think it would be too easy, quite the opposite actualy. The game is supposed to be insanely hard. Though I might re-think weapon unlock order as they are ordered from hardest-to-play but most control to easiest-to-play.

the game is amazing! full review:

1. unfortunatelly setup.py didnt start. seems like you forgot to put the text.py and probably saver.

2. the menu and interface overall is incredible. i was suprised how good it is.

3. gameplay is good too, even tho i needed a couple of minutes to understand where to go. and the second wave zombies are a bit too strong. as i am a noob who just downloaded a game i expect some easy wins to get interested into the game. just do some balance changes 😁

4. and the graphics is just fabulous im amazed it was made in pygame keep it up

The demo has been updated and the setup.py should now work.

Also the game is meant to be really hard.
